| The mission of IC-HEALTH is
"To promote health research that will enable the early integration of cost-effective interventions for cardiovascular risk reduction in populations-as well as in individuals at high risk of CVD-into primary health care settings of low and middle-income countries." |

| This mission includes operational research, policy research in areas such as the microeconomic effects of CVD, and policy interventions for tobacco control. IC-HEALTH also aims to pursue analytic studies on research road maps in low- and middle-income countries, including analysis of resource flows for such research. Further, IC-HEALTH aims to increase the cardiovascular health research infrastructure across low- and middle-income countries through capacity-building workshops and formal training programs. |
