Dr. WU Yangfeng
In addition to his current role as Director of Clinical Research Programs at Peking University Health Science Center, Professor WU Yangfeng has recently joined The George Institute, China as its Director. He is also currently a Professor of Epidemiology at the Peking University School of Public Health and held a previous position of the Director of Epidemiology Department at Fuwai Hospital and Cardiovascular Institute at the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. |

A cardiovascular expert, Professor WU has made valuable contributions to reduce the impact of cardiovascular disease in China. He successfully led numerous national and international collaborations including the 9th and 10th National Five-Year Plan Projects in cardiovascular disease epidemiology and prevention. These collaborations generated significant scientific evidence that helped provide direct input to policy makers, health professionals and the public.
Professor WU Yangfeng’s published works include over 100 peer-reviewed papers in both Chinese and international journals. Awards and acknowledgements received include several academic awards from Ministry Health, Ministry of Science and Technology, Chinese Medical Association, Wu Jieping Medical and Paul Johnsson Pharmaceutical Award, Fok Ying Tung Education Foundation, etc.
Due to his ongoing contribution, he was granted “The Special Allowance Receiving Specialist” by the PRC State Council and “The Country Level Bai-Qian-Wan Experts” jointly presented by seven ministries including the Ministry of Personnel, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Finance, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Natural Science Foundation, and the China Association for Science and Technology. |
