IC Health, in association with the World Bank and other partners, plans to launch a series of projects concerning the delivery of smoking cessation and smoking prevention programs through primary health care services in low- and middle-income countries. The first phase of this work has begun and concerns identification of priority targets for research. In the second phase, requests for applications targeting the priority areas will be issued. Sponsorship for the first phase has been provided by the Global Forum for Health Research and the World Bank. The first phase includes the conduct of an international workshop at which tobacco research priorities will be considered. IC Health is seeking support for the second phase of this project.
