The initial activities of IC Health have been sponsored
primarily by the Global Forum for Health Research with funds provided by
the World Bank. Additional funds for core activities have been provided
by the US Institute of Medicine, The George Institute for International
Health (Australia), the World Heart Federation and the World Health
Organization. Project funds for several studies have been raised from a
variety of public and private sponsors. IC Health is seeking further
sponsorship from other interested agencies and foundations for the
support of the programs and projects described above. Support for the
work of IC Health can be provided in two ways: |
|
 |
Through donations to IC Health for programs or projects managed directly
by the Initiative. |
|
 |
Through support for programs or projects consistent with the aims of IC
Health, but managed by other organizations (e.g. by the sponsoring
foundation or agency). IC Health can provide support for such
development, wherever this is required. |
|
|
Sponsorship will be acknowledged in all
project materials, publications and presentations. Additionally, major
sponsors may be invited to appoint a representative to the Board of IC
Health. IC Health hopes to raise USD 20 million during the period
2004-2006 for allocation over 5 years from 2004-2008. Almost 90% of the
total funds sought will be dispersed for program and project funding and
the remainder will support central management, coordination and fund
raising for the Initiative. |
