Since its inception, IC Health has operated under the umbrella of the Global Forum for Health Research in Geneva. The global operations of IC Health are coordinated by a Secretariat located in New Delhi at the Centre for Chronic Disease Control. It is planned that IC Health will be established as an independent, not-for-profit organization registered in Switzerland, with status in the USA as a charitable foundation to which donations are tax-deductible. A Board of IC Health will be appointed and will have ultimate legal responsibility for all the Initiative’s activities. The Board would represent a range of key stakeholders including cardiovascular disease and diabetes researchers, relevant multilateral agencies, other major partners and sponsors. The Board would be advised by a Research Advisory Committee, which would review proposals for studies, issue requests for applications, seek independent peer review, make recommendations about funding, and review progress on all programs and projects.
